MY REAL ESTATE BIOGRAPHY:

My husband and I first started investing in Real Estate after moving to Big Bear Lake in 1989.  We bought our first home in 1990 with a 3% down FHA loan @ a fixed rate of 9%.  It was a real fixer upper, and we took out a 2^nd loan which at the time was called a “home improvement loan” and it was at a whopping 18% interest rate!  Luckily, the first 12 months were deferred payments, by which time we had made the improvements and increased the value of the home, which enabled us to refinance and consolidate the two loans at a lower rate.  Soon after, we purchased a small house in Big Bear City, fixed it up and leased it out.  Our 3^rd purchase was a repo condo in San Bernardino that we leased out after cleaning and repairs.

In 1998, we relocated to Long Beach, CA where we found our dream home in Historic California Heights!  There are 2 homes on a large lot, so the rental income pays a large portion of the mortgage.  Real Estate was really booming from 1998-2006, and we could refinance our SFR with cash out to purchase a 3-unit building that we converted to 4 units, then exchanged that for an 8-unit building.  We sold all the property in San Bernardino County and continued to buy and sell various properties in Long Beach through the IRS 1031 exchange program to defer payment of Capital Gains.

Throughout those years we were self-employed owners of various Mom & Pop businesses in California and Florida, including search & recruiting, home improvement, cellular and restaurants.  I have been involved with every detail of all negotiations regarding the purchases and sales of these businesses.

I became licensed in Real Estate in 2005 to help others achieve their dreams in Real Estate.  When you are putting your trust in an agent to represent you in the purchase or sale of a home, investment property or business, you want someone who has personal experience and success & will treat each transaction as if it is their own.  That agent is me!
